The Last Trip

from Knight Templar's Last Trip by Deltaviolin

/

about

"To a land where the horizon is on your doorstep

a black tower made of marble. a door flies
open and white lightening pours across the land.
the burnt black grass becomes frost snow-white.
Each blade crackling with a force stronger than
life itself. My body stretched out over miles
not tearing my sight from the light. An
outstretched hand pulls me into the pure
perfect time where smiles and starry eyes
play around this land. like crystals like glass
the happiness of transparent ice. So clear
so smooth so warm and gentle. The
ascension like an energy drawing up, up
still further miles high now but both feet
miles away rooted, growing, feeding. A sight
so clear. a sight so near"

- extract from "Compass Log Book" portfolio, by Ben Heaney (Royal Northern College of Music, November 1992)
